The series of short films “Insider’s guide in Riga” has received the highest award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Riga Tourism Development Bureau also known as Live Riga submitted 5 short films altogether to the Corporate Films festival at Cannes, films that introduce our beautiful capital city Riga in a unique way — through the eyes of a taxi driver, a priest, a women's lifestyle blogger, a senior and a teacher.
“Each trip lets the visitors of the city gain a new perspective on the vast diversity of Riga. And even though the paths of the film characters may intertwine, the city is different for each and every one of them,” Vita Jermoloviča, the director of Live Riga, tells.
The promotional video made by Live Riga received two gold prizes — the Gold Dolphins — at the international Corporate Media & TV Awards festival in Cannes. The series of films won the category of Tourism Films and the Social Media & Short Videos category.
The short films were created in cooperation with DDB Latvia and they were produced by the director Jānis Nords.
Cannes Corporate Media&TV Award is the only festival for corporate films. Corporate films, on-line media and TV productions are annually honoured at the festival. Altogether, there were more than 1,000 applications this year from more than 40 countries.
The 5 films will reveal the unexpected Riga and make you smile.
